I was asked a certain index question recently. Usually, students use logarithm to solve that sort of question. Provided here is an alternative method to solve that question.

Dua gambar di atas merupakan sebahagian daripada maklum balas berbentuk lukisan daripada 5 Makmur 2009 apabila cikgu meminta kelas ini memberikan komen terbuka di atas kertas (tanpa perlu menulis nama) mengenai matematik tambahan dan juga mengenai diri cikgu sendiri.
Gambar 1 mungkin sukar difahami jika tidak membaca penuh apa yang ditulis oleh penulis … penuh dengan kata-kata simbolik. Terkedu apabila penulis mengatakan : ”Teacher’s personality is beyond words“. Walau bagaimanapun, maaf, kerana cikgu tidak seperti yang diharapkan.
Gambar 2 pula, rasa sayu di hati apabila pelukis menggambarkan diri dan rakan-rakan sekelas seperti yang dilukiskan. Sama sekali tidak!. 5M is not like that. Dan cikgu tidak pernah menganggap 5M seperti itu – ada ‘tanduk’ dan ‘ekor’ ni. I am okay with you all. And I think I like to be called “Teacher Ray”.
